The 2022 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese ** (White Capsule) opens with a clear, bright, intense, very elegant, saline, slightly flinty and, in any case, intense bouquet of perfectly ripe, dense and fleshy yellow fleshed tropical rather than domestic fruit. Full-bodied, intense and textural on the palate, this is a physical, tight and tensioned ZSU with an intense and sustainable finish. This is a very promising Riesling that needs some years in the bottle to shine and sing. 11.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024 from AP 43 23.

The 2022 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese** Gold Capsule has the honeyed scent of botrytis, accompanied by citrus blossom, candied orange peel and a touch of smoke. A super-compact, viscous palate is limpid and clear with orange zest. Botrytis is more evident on the nose than on the pristine, citrus-driven palate. Concentrated and elegant, the finish echoes long with orange peel and honey.
