Aged in 77% new and 23% one-year-old French oak barrels and composed of 89% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Troplong Mondot has a deep garnet-purple color and comes bursting out of the glass with bold preserved plums, Black Forest cake and Indian spices scents plus suggestions of espresso, black olives, cigar box and tilled soil. Full-bodied, rich, plushly textured and oh-so-decadent, it packs in the spiced black fruit layers and finishes with fantastic persistence.

Deep, savory nose with plenty of blackberry fruit, plus notes of bitter chocolate and roasted meat. At once ripe and generous, but also lively and pleasantly dry, thanks to the moderate amount of fine tannin, this has more elegance and complexity at the finish than many wines of the vintage. Notas de Falstaff

Deep ruby garnet, purple reflections, broad ochre rim. Delicate hints of herbs and vanilla, a fine touch of precious wood, black forest berries, liquorice and cassis, a hint of nougat, orange zest in the background. Medium body, red cherries, fine tannins, some chocolate on the finish, good freshness and balance, well-developed, gastronomic wine with charm, can already be drunk well. (2021 - 2040).
